Final at the Australian Open, the title in New York, quarterfinal at Roland Garros. My results at this year’s three Grand Slams are really a dream. However, one thing is for sure: the last weeks have been quite exhausting, that’s why I am even happier with my success in Paris.

Hugo Gaston challenged my quite hard in the round of 16, we had a hard fight on an extremely high level, his countless drop-shots were legendary. And the atmosphere in the stands was awesome. Absolutely positive!

On Tuesday I will play the 8th Major quarterfinal of my career, and just in this match I will face a good friend of mine. I have known Diego Schwartzman for years, we often practice together, talk about soccer and always have a lot of fun. He is a cool guy, who I regard highly. And he is particularly one thing: an excellent tennis player! So far I’ve won 6 out of 8 matches against Diego – my head-to-head seems to be promising. But that doesn’t mean anything before this quarterfinal.

I can feel my body already, my opponent has been playing excellently for weeks. This is going to be a huge challenge, I’ll have to push my limits and go beyond another time.

Long treatments by physical therapist Alex Stober, hot baths and a lot of sleep – this should help me to recover. I’ll do everything that my journey at the French Open will continue.
