What a sad premier. Never ever have I failed at the French Open that early. I experienced many great moments at Roland Garros, the five-set defeat against Pablo Andujar really hurts. It was a terrible defeat I have to deal with. For the last couple of weeks I had trained well, the strokes had actually been good. However, reality in Paris showed something completely different. I wasn’t good enough, my entire game lacked some percents here and there. My forehand and backhand were a disaster, I cannot be happy with my first service percentage.
My performance is unsatisfactory, I must change that. Immediately! There is no time for a break, after returning to Austria I’ll be back at the practice sessions. I have a lot of work ahead of me! I will try my best to get back to my top level of the game. I will prepare extensively for the grass court season.
I’m sorry that my eighth start at the French Open was a flop. I would like to thank you even more for all of your support. All those supporting, encouraging and nice messages really mean a lot to me, even more in this critical situation. I hope we will enjoy an improving performance and victories on the tour soon.
